Our team

Our team has experience and expertise in managing and executing national and international projects.
At present, GeoVille Group is employing a staff of more than 35 experts and consultants graduated in Earth sciences and Informatics from universities in Austria, Germany and the United States.

The educational background of GeoVille staff lies in geography, forestry, spatial planning, land management, environmental management, oceanography, cartography, informatics, economics and law. Key emphasis is on remote sensing and GIS, including strong analytical, statistical and numerical processing expertises and web-based IT technologies. All of our staff members are holding an MSc grade or equivalent, and 30% a PhD title. Our staff is multi-lingual and covers a large range of management, technical and scientifically related expertises.

 

ORGANISATION

The company’s shareholders are representatives of international remote sensing, law and tax consulting firms.

  Managing Directors
Christian Hoffmann Christian Hoffmann is the founder of GeoVille and holds as Managing Director 25% of the company shares. He holds a doctorate in cartography from the University of Vienna and long term experience in GIS, remote sensing and cartography applications working for the United Nations, the European Commission and Intergraph.
Stefan Kleeschulte Stefan Kleeschulte holds a master's degree in Applied Physical Geography from the University of Trier and has more than 20 years of experience working in Earth Observation and environmental applications at international level. He is Managing Director of GeoVille, Luxembourg and acts as Environmental Application Advisor to GeoVille, Austria.
  Commercial Director
Andreas Walli Andreas Walli, an environmental resource manager with a PhD from the University of California is GeoVille's Commercial Director. As Chief GI & RS Analyst he led project acquisition and execution at Stanford University for 7 years and has more than 10 years of international experience in applied earth observation in a large range of fields. Under his responsibility are promotion & marketing, data distribution and project acquisition.
  Technical Director
Jürgen Weichselbaum Jürgen Weichselbaum, a spatial planner with long term experience in remote sensing and GIS is Head of the Technical Department and holds a master's degree from the University of Vienna. Under his responsibility are the EO Data Processing, GI Operations and the Consulting Group.
  Financial Administration
Johann Trixl Johann Trixl has a master's degree in business and economics from the University of Innsbruck and holds as Financial Director 26% of the company shares. Among his responsibilities are key account management, audit certification and project accounting.
  Scientific Advisor
Ute Gangkofner Ute Gangkofner, holds a doctorate in natural science from the University of Munich and is a geographer with more than 20 years background in various fields of remote sensing. Dr.Gangkofner, who has developed numerous groundbreaking methods and lead many significant earth observations studies, is Head of the GeoVille Scientific Advisory Group.
  IT Management
Wolfgang Stemberger Wolfgang Stemberger is a geographer with more than 6 years working experience in the field of remote sensing and geographic information systems. He holds a master's degree in Geography from the Leopold-Franzens-University in Innsbruck and is technical project officer at GeoVille Information Systems GmbH. Additionally, he is responsible for software development and network administration.
Manuel Löhnertz Manuel Löhnertz, an Environmental Scientist with a master's degree from the University of Trier, is remote sensing and GIS expert at GeoVille Luxembourg and responsible for the implementation of EO data and GIS operations. In addition he is in charge of network and server administration.
  Software Development and Quality Management
Christian Schleicher Christian Schleicher, a cartographer with 10 years of versatile experience in remote sensing and GIS data production projects is technical project officer and holds a Dipl. Ing. of the University of applied science in Munich and a Master of Science in Geoinformation from the University of Salzburg. Under his responsibility are project management, data processing and analyses, geographic information development as well as the quality assurance.
  Earth Observation and GIS Experts
Florian Jäger Florian Jäger, a geographer with more than 5 years of experience in remote sensing and GIS is part of the Technical Department and holds a diploma degree in Geography from the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich. Under his responsibility are EO Data Processing, development of automatic processing chains and GI Operations as well as internal project organisation.
Mirko Gregor Mirko Gregor is a Physical Geographer with a master's degree from the University of Trier. He has long-term experiences in EO and GIS processing and heads the Technical Department of GeoVille Luxembourg. Under his responsibility are EO data and GIS operations as well as spatial analysis.
Eva Haas Eva Haas, a geographer with a doctorate from UCL, Belgium, has long term international experience in GIS and remote sensing, having worked for the European Commission (JRC, Ispra) and the United Nations. At GeoVille she is a project manager for environmental, ecosystem and agricultural related monitoring and assessment studies.
Martin Hofer Martin Hofer graduated in Geography and Political Science from the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He has more than 5 years of working experience in GIS and remote sensing and developed a wide range of specialized products for various national and international customers.
  Secretariat
Eva Wachter Eva Wachter acts as secretary, has an established commercial education and many years of professional experience. Besides being responsible for GeoVille’s accounting, she provides administrative support to management and the company through conducting and organizing administrative duties and activities.
