Environmental indicators

Indicators provide relevant and targeted information on the state and trend of the environment. We have understood that the wealth of information stemming from EO based and in-situ environmental monitoring needs to be put into a consistent, repeatable and easy to understand framework in support of policy strategies and communication.

Environmental indicators provide the framework to understand and quantify key environmental concerns, such as state and change of land use / land cover (e.g. the share of green spaces in cities, as done for the EEAState of Environment Report 2010, landscape fragmentation, pressure on biodiversity or the impact of past and future (i.e. through scenario development) territorial planning decisions).

We can help you to translate your data into environmentally relevant indicators and let you assess and compare your progress towards environmental sustainability.
